We live most of our lives on autopilot. You have a morning routine, you never think about what to shower first or what side of your face to shave first, and most of your day continues on autopilot.

Imagine what you could accomplish during the last quarter of this month and in 2022, if you turned your autopilot OFF. This would force you to become more aware of the decisions you making, actions your taking and results your achieving.

If you want to improve the quality of your life, your income, health, relationships or any other aspect of your life, you need to replace old habits with new more effective ones. Over the past 18 months many changes were out of your control, but it’s time to take control of your happiness, life and future.

First, determine what is most important to you and where you want to be in 3 to 5 years. If you don’t know where you’re going, you’re never going to get there. When you have short and long term goals, you may hit obstacles or challenges, but you focus on your end goal.

I’ve always been told by mentors and coaches that I’m unbalanced because I work too much. My response has always been “I’m unbalance but happy!” I will always work too much, but I also put the exact same energy into my family, friends and things I enjoy most. Being balanced is not one of my priorities, and it’s okay.

The last quarter of each year, sets you up for the coming year. Why not write down 10 non-negotiable goals for 2022 within the next 10 days. Your goals should reflect the areas of your life that are most important to YOU and might include: personal, financial, career, spiritual, health, education, philanthropic, work life balance, or others.

Break each goal down into the five action items it will take for you to achieve your goals. If achievement of your goal takes more than five steps, break the goal into two goals. Date these action items and post the goals where you can see them throughout your day.

When you are focused on what is most important to you, it becomes very apparent why you must turn off the automatic pilot that controls your life. This is much harder than it sounds. Imagine trying to reverse the order you wash yourself in the shower?

When you have your goals and dated action items completed and read them throughout your day, everything changes. You not make better decisions and will complete the actions needed to achieve the results you want. As a result, you improve the quality of your life and future.

As you complete your action items, check them off so you can see your progress. If you start now, chances are you will be adding to your list of 10 non-negotiable goals, because you’ll complete them before the end of the year. Once you put yourself in control, you will be amazed at the things you can accomplish.
